Why halal cat food?

A halal-conscious home shouldn’t have to make exceptions for the family cat. Here’s what halal pet food means, and why we think it’s simply better food.

What makes cat food halal?

Halal pet food is made so that any animal-derived ingredients come from sources that are slaughtered and processed to recognised halal standards, with no haram ingredients (such as pork derivatives or alcohol) and no cross-contamination during manufacturing. For many Muslim households, knowing the food in their home — including their pet’s — is halal brings genuine peace of mind.

What is HMC certification?

HMC (the Halal Monitoring Committee) is one of the most respected halal certification bodies in the UK, known for its strict, hands-on monitoring. When a product is HMC-certified, it has been independently checked against a robust standard — not just self-declared. Our recipes carry HMC certification, so you don’t have to take our word for it.

Better for your cat, too

Choosing halal often goes hand in hand with choosing quality. Our food leads with named meat and fish protein (35% crude protein), and leaves out grain, wheat and soya — common fillers and allergy triggers in cheaper brands. There are no artificial colours, additives or preservatives, and we add salmon and vegetable oils for a glossy coat and healthy joints.

Mercy to animals

Kindness to animals runs deep in Islamic tradition — cats in particular have always held a cherished place. Feeding your cat thoughtfully sourced, wholesome food is a small but meaningful way to honour that. Good for your cat, and aligned with your values.
