What actually happens after you post your Quran to us?
You've packed the box, printed the address, and dropped it at the Post Office. It's normal to feel a little uneasy after that — you can't see what happens next, and this isn't an ordinary parcel. So here is the honest, step-by-step version.
1. Arrival and confirmation
When your parcel arrives, we confirm receipt by email against the reference number from your order. If you used a tracked service, you'll already have seen it marked as delivered — our confirmation email is the second checkpoint.
2. Shrouding and storage
You don't need to wrap each book specially before posting — a sturdy box with bubble wrap or kraft paper to protect it in transit is all that's required. On arrival, we shroud items in clean cloth ourselves, then store them off the floor in a clean, secure facility until the next burial.
3. The wait: 1 week to 6 months
We don't bury on demand. Burials are pooled and carried out twice a year, so depending on when your parcel arrives relative to that cycle, the wait is anywhere from about a week to six months. Your items are stored respectfully throughout — this isn't a backlog, it's how the burial itself is organised so that it's done properly rather than piecemeal.
4. The burial itself
Everything received is buried together at a partnered UK Muslim cemetery, in a clean, private plot dedicated for this purpose where no one will walk over it — the same standard a family digging their own hole in a back garden would be aiming for (a clean location, no footfall, sufficient depth), except done at scale and on land set aside for exactly this.
We don't name our cemetery partners publicly. That's out of respect for their privacy, and to avoid implying an institutional endorsement they haven't explicitly given — but we're glad to answer direct questions from families or scholars who want to verify how this works.
5. Why there's no public attendance
For reasons specific to our partner cemeteries, we don't host public attendance at the burial. If you have a specific wish — for example, a du'a read over your parcel — tell us in the order notes when you check out, and we'll honour it.
6. If something in your parcel doesn't belong
Occasionally a parcel arrives with something that isn't paper Islamic literature mixed in. We separate it and either return it to you at cost, or dispose of it ordinarily if you've said that's fine in your notes. The honest summary
There's no ceremony you'll be invited to, and no certificate at the end of it — this is a quiet, practical service, not a performance. What you get is confirmation that your parcel arrived, and the knowledge that it will be treated the same way any family burying their own Quran in their own garden would want it treated: cleanly, respectfully, and without being walked over.
