Making a sponsor slide for PowerPoint

A sponsor slide is usually one image dropped onto a blank slide. Getting it right is mostly about size and count.

Match the slide dimensions exactly

A standard widescreen PowerPoint slide is 13.333 × 7.5 inches, which is 1920 × 1080 pixels at 144dpi. Export your sponsor sheet at exactly 1920 × 1080 and it will land edge to edge with no scaling and no soft edges.

In PowerPoint: Insert → Picture → from file, then set its position to 0,0 and its size to the full slide. Do not drag it to fit by eye.

How many logos fit on one slide

Around 35 is comfortable. At that number each logo is roughly 28cm on a three-metre screen, and brand names stay readable from the back of a hall.

Push to 70 on one slide and each logo drops to around 18cm, straplines become unreadable, and the slide reads as a wall of noise. Two slides at 35 each is almost always better, and you can advance between them while speaking.

If it is a looping background

For a broadcast or foyer loop with a lower-third graphic over the bottom, keep the bottom sixth of the frame completely empty. Measure the actual bar rather than assuming a third. Most are around 14% of the frame height, and reserving a full third wastes a lot of space.

Keep it as an image

Resist rebuilding the sponsor layout with native PowerPoint shapes. It will reflow differently on another machine, fonts will substitute, and the careful spacing will drift. One flat image is predictable everywhere.

Do this automatically

Sponsor Wall does the sizing, background removal and tiering described above, and exports every format at once. Free to organise and preview.
