Terms of Service
These terms form the agreement between you and Web Matter when you use Taekwondo Competition Manager. By creating an account or purchasing a licence you confirm you have read and accepted them.
1. Definitions
"We", "us", "our" means Web Matter, a UK sole trader operating at webmatter.co.uk. "Service" means the Taekwondo Competition Manager software, website, and related APIs. "You" means the individual or organisation using the Service.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity on your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create a paid account. If we suspect abuse or fraudulent activity we may suspend an account while we investigate.
3. Licences and payment
The Service is sold on a per-competition licence basis. Prices are shown in GBP on the pricing page and include applicable UK VAT where relevant. Payment is taken in advance via our payment processor Stripe. A licence is valid for the competition it was purchased for and the seven-day results window immediately after the competition date.
We may change future prices at any time; prices for already-purchased licences will not change.
4. Refunds
All purchases are final. Because a competition licence is a digital product that is delivered immediately upon payment, all sales are non-refundable. By completing a purchase you acknowledge that access to the licence is granted instantly and that you waive any statutory cooling-off period that may otherwise apply to digital content under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
We encourage you to review the features, pricing, and demo available on our website before purchasing. If you have any questions about whether a particular licence is right for your event, please contact us at tkd@webmatter.co.uk before making a purchase.
In exceptional circumstances — for example, where the Service suffers an extended outage that prevents you from running your competition — we may, at our sole discretion, offer a credit or refund. Any such decision is made on a case-by-case basis and does not create a precedent or entitlement for future claims.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell any part of the Service.
- Upload unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or breach the security of the Service.
- Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Use the Service in a way that causes excessive load or degrades the experience for other users.
6. Your data
You retain ownership of all competition data (contestants, categories, matches, results) you enter into the Service. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that data as needed to operate the Service. We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to upload any third-party personal data (for example, competitors you register) and for handling data-subject requests from those individuals.
7. Availability and support
We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced where possible. Support is provided by email during UK business hours. Response times are usually within one working day and faster on competition days for active licence holders.
8. Intellectual property
All software, design, and documentation are the property of Web Matter and its licensors. No rights are transferred to you other than the limited right to use the Service under these terms.
9. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded under UK law. To the maximum extent permitted by law our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms. On termination, you may request an export of your data within 30 days; after that we may delete it subject to our legal retention duties.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the change date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you live.
