Store Qurans on a shelf above other books, away from the floor, in covers if possible, and out of direct sunlight, bathrooms and damp rooms. Keep them upright or lying flat, not leaning at an angle, which warps spines. Sunlight and damp are what yellow and curl pages, so a cool, dry, shaded shelf keeps them in good condition for decades.

- A shelf above other books and above waist height, never on the floor
- Not in the bathroom, and away from kitchen steam
- Away from windows: sunlight fades covers and yellows pages
- Avoid lofts, garages and outside walls, which get cold and damp
How
- Upright and snug, or lying flat. Leaning books warp.
- In a cloth cover to keep dust off
- Not squeezed tightly, which damages spines
Yellowing pages
Yellowing comes from light, heat and the acidity of cheaper paper. It can't be reversed, but storing Qurans in a cool, dark, dry place slows it a lot.
