Teaching children to look after the Quran

Children learn to respect the Quran through simple, consistent routines: wudu before reading, a cover for their mushaf, one fixed place for it at home, and a bag with its own Quran space. Explain the reason once, model it yourself, and praise them when they do it without being asked.

Explain why, once and simply

"This is Allah's words, so we keep it clean and look after it." Children follow a rule more readily when they understand it.

Build routines, not rules

A cover. Let them choose their own ghilaf.
One home for it. A high shelf, never the floor.
One place in the bag. A dedicated sleeve means they don't have to remember where it goes.
A rehal for reading. It makes "not on the floor" automatic.

Model it

If they see you kiss the mushaf, cover it and put it up high, they'll copy you.

When accidents happen
