Quran pages getting bent or crumpled in the bag

Why it happens

• The bag is too small, so the Quran is forced in at an angle
• A floppy bag with no stiff back lets the book bend when carried
• Other things are packed on top, like a pencil case or bottle
• The bag is dropped on its corner

How to flatten bent pages

1. Make wudu, then open the Quran to the bent pages on a clean table.
2. Gently smooth each crease with your fingers from the spine outward.
3. Close it and press it under a stack of heavy books overnight.
4. For stubborn creases, lay a clean sheet of paper over the page and press with a barely warm iron (no steam) for a few seconds, then press under books again.

How to stop it happening

• Check the bag fits the Quran flat with room to spare. See what size bag fits a Quran.
• Use a zipped or padded cover.
• Pack the Quran last, on top, or in its own sleeve.
• Choose a bag with a stiff back or base.

If pages are torn or loose
